And the winner is…

Thomas Madreiter!

Thomas described his entry as a journey into the world of plants, imagining what they might be up to when we're not around. He took inspiration from his own 10-year-old illustration of a cheerful cactus band and embarked on the ambitious task of bringing them to life in 3D, all while preserving the handmade feel.

In the process, Thomas meticulously ensured that the 3D models stayed true to the original 2D characters' shape language, while modernising certain aspects for a fresh look. The Paintify Shader played a crucial role, simplifying the shading process and allowing for precise customisation on each object to maintain the appearance of hand-painted textures.

Well done, Thomas, you win a Nintendo Switch Oled!

In Second Place, Patrice Ong. They created a small woodland scene with some forest creatures that come out to roam when night comes around.

We love how atmospheric the scene is and the clever use of Paintify across every element.

Congratulations, Michel Buschotts, on securing 3rd place in the Paintify contest!

Your creative use of Paintify, coupled with playful sound effects and a rigged character, brought the narrative to life. Your exploration of distortion and imperfections in 3D modeling showcases your growth as a designer.

And finally, a few Special Mentions…

Juano Pazos with is amazing DAY/NIGHT short film.

Lorena G and her digital pottery.

Nikita Volkov and his birds .
